New member 2016: SPFL Training

Published Friday 15 January 2016
The apprentices are involved in study for the SVQ Level 3 course “Achieving Excellence in Sports Performance”. This is the pathway to professional football in Scotland. Nevertheless a significant number of apprentices do not go on to a career in professional football (possibly through injury) and often end up continuing their career on a part-time basis. Many of these apprentices go on to take up jobs in manual crafts (eg mechanics, electricians, plumbers, carpenters). SPFL Training supplement their football training with work experience programmes with employers in manual crafts. Developpement of SPFL Training are returned to these employers to support the training of the young apprentices.
