The VET training system in Bulgaria


Compulsory education in Bulgaria starts at age 6 and last until age 16.
The education system in Bulgaria has various school-types and programmes and similar programmes start at different age. There are primary schools, basic schools and comprehensive schools that cover the whole period of compulsory education. Upper secondary education consists of a general education stream and various streams of vocational education.

Who is concerned?
 

The main transnational mobility scheme in VET in Bulgaria is offered by the Ministry of Education within the Leonardo da Vinci sector programme. The main trait of this scheme is that it offers limited number of mobility arrangements to the respective company, depending on the content of the National call for proposals for the respective selection year. In most of the cases one company is allowed to send up to 10 employees on a placement abroad.
