The periods of study abroad take place in both schools/training establishments and companies. The period of placement varies from one month to one year.
In Norway, Europass Mobility is the most common document for identification and description of learning outcomes and experiences gained through mobility schemes. The knowledge, skills and competences acquired though the mobility experiences is filled out jointly by the sending partner and the host organisation.
Information meetings with interest organisations (for instance the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise – , etc..), branch offices, training establishments, companies and other relevant stakeholders’ to promote transnational mobility and highlight its effects are important for encouraging companies to participate in transnational mobility in VET. It might be observed that successful placements serve as a means to promote mobility, i.e. after having participated in transnational mobility, companies are more willing to participate several times or recommend it to others.
 

The most important sources of funding are international programs and the State Educational Loan Fund. In some  cases regional county councils and companies offer some support.

SIU  - www.siu.no The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in higher education and also responsible for coordinating national measures according to official Norwegian policy within the field of internationalisation and official agency for the administration of mobility programs within all levels of education.
FIVAI – www.fivai.no is a county office responsible to administer and inform about some of the mobility learning schemes in operation.
