  Main aim : Help the apprentices to land an internship or a job Number of classes : 2 minimum Language : – Synchronous sessions : in English – Other sessions : in English and in native language Target audience’s level : 4 ou 5 English level : A1-B2 Professional sector : cross-cutting Pre-requisite : CV (at least in native language) Tools needed : internet connexion/ skype Carateristic of the sequence: The sequence can be adapted according to the skills of the apprentices, his english level, the availibilities of the apprentices and the teacher Function : Before physical mobility or as an alternative to physical mobility

  STEP 1 : PREPARATION – Basculer

  Characteristic : Option according to the level of the apprentice
  Mode : in classroom or at home
  Duration : 2h
  Language: English

  • OBJECTIVES :

    – enrich their vocabulary to relate their skills and experiences
    – know tools to translate
    – be able to use the available tools in order to translate their CV in english
    – be able to publish his CV online (private or public)
    – be able to introduce himself and to present his CV (categories,…)
    – be able to prepare a job interview by anticipating possible questions and answers

  • DESCRIPTION :

    In classroom :

    The teacher presents the learning sequence and the instructions

    In individual :

    1- Preparing his CV in english
    2- Publishing their CV (upload on a space dedicated, link to a social network, use a software to create and publish etc.)
    3- Preparing a presentation of themselves and their CV (categories, etc.)
    4- Preparing questions and answers for job interview

  • ROLE OF THE TEACHER :

    – Linguistic tutor :

    -> he helps them if they have any problem to translate
    -> he gives advices in the use of translation tools
    -> he helps them to prepare a presentation of themselves

  • EQUIPMENTS/TOOLS :

    Internet connexion & computer

     

  • DOCUMENTARY RESOURCES :

     

    Each apprentice has his CV in native language.

  STEP 2 : CV – DISCUSSION AND COMPARISON – Basculer

  Characteristic : Obligatory
  Mode : synchronous connection
  Duration : 1h
  Language : English 
  

  • OBJECTIVES :

    – develop linguistic skills (expression and listening)
    – be able to identify similarities, differences and good practices

  • DESCRIPTION :

    In plenary (SYNCHRONOUS): By visioconference with the other class, a voluntary introduces his class (school, professional sector, and so on).

    Then, one teacher presents the document concerning similarities and differences and explains the instructions.

    Per group of four – mixed group (SYNCHRONOUS):

    – students present themselves, and their CV (format and content).

  • ROLE OF THE TEACHER :

    – Linguistic tutor
    – Technician in case of technical problems
    – Animator

  • EQUIPMENTS/TOOLS :

    – a videoconference tool (Skype for example)
    – a good internet connexion

  STEP 3 : DEBRIEFING – Basculer

   

  Characteristic : Optional
  Mode : in classroom
  Duration : 1h
  Language : native language
  

  • OBJECTIVES :

    – Be able to make an oral debriefing about a work team
    – Be able to improve their CV

  • DESCRIPTION :

    In classroom :
    – Debriefing in native language about the differences, similarities and the expectations for each country.
    – They can also discuss about the different tools used to publish their CV and conclude about the good practices observed.

    In individual : Then, they have to improve their CV in their mother tongue.

  • ROLE OF THE TEACHER :

    In classroom : The teacher helps them to make feedback and share their point of view about what they have learnt by the group work.

    In individual, he helps them to valorize their skills acquired in a formel setting and in informal setting (valorization of linguistic, numeric skills…).

  STEP 4 : SIMULATION OF JOB INTERVIEW – Basculer

  • OBJECTIVES :

    – Simulating an oral interview
    – Developing oral expression and comprehension in English
    – Developping know-how-to-be
    – Sharing best practices / techniques for a successful interview

  • DESCRIPTION :

    Per group of two (SYNCHRONOUS):

    Role Playing : divided into mixed groups of two, apprentices are alternately candidate and recruiter

    In plenary group (SYNCHRONOUS): Debriefing in entire classes on the qualities and behaviors assessed in interviews

  • ROLE OF THE TEACHER :

    Linguistic tutor
    Teacher communication as observer

  • EQUIPMENTS/TOOLS :

    Videoconference tools (as Skype)
    A good internet connexion
